American rapper, Rich Homie Quan [/b]has reportedly passed away at the age of 34 due to an overdose, according to various sources online.

The news of the ‘Type of Way’ crooner’s alleged overdose has thrown the hip-hop community into deep mourning. Rich Homie Quan, whose real name is Richie Homie Quan, was a prominent figure in the rap scene, known for his distinctive voice and impactful music. His sudden death has left fans and fellow artists in shock and sadness.

Following the announcement of Rich Homie Quan’s death, several celebrities have taken to social media to express their grief. Rapper Boosie confirmed the cause of Quan’s death on X (formerly known as Twitter), stating that it was indeed due to an overdose. Boosie’s post on X reads:


Rich Homie Quan, who was 34 years old, was seen recently at the trial of YSL label boss Young Thug, who is currently facing RICO charges related to running a gang responsible for multiple murders. Quan was associated with Young Stoner Life Records, the label owned by Young Thug, and had a notable presence in the rap industry. Known for his tracks such as ‘Type of Way,’ ‘Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh),’ and ‘Lifestyle,’ where he collaborated with both Young Thug and Birdman, Rich Homie Quan had a prolific career spanning over a decade. He released nearly 20 albums, solidifying his status as a key figure in contemporary hip-hop.

Rich Homie Quan’s passing is part of a troubling trend in the music industry this year. Enchanting, another rapper, also passed away due to a drug overdose at the age of 26 in June 2024. A representative for Enchanting, whose real name was Channing Nicole Larry, reported that she was struggling with drug addiction and was attempting to withdraw in the final days of her life. The representative stated, “She came to my house the last four days to get clean. She tried her best, and I did everything I could to help her; she tried.” According to an official statement from Enchanting’s team, the artist was taken off life support following the overdose.
