BBNaija season 9 housemate, KellyRae opens up about why he would rather win the show’s N100M grand prize himself instead of having his wife, Kassia, take it home.
The couple, once known as team Double Kay, have now embarked on their individual journeys to claim the grand prize, following the dissolution of the pairing system. This significant change was announced by the show’s organizers after the Sunday eviction, which saw the Radicals duo exit the house.
In a candid conversation with fellow housemates after the eviction show, KellyRae shared that his wife, whose identity as his spouse remains a secret to the other contestants, is highly business-minded and quite stringent with money.
The Delta state-born singer explained that if he were to win the prize, the funds would be more effectively circulated within their household, compared to if Kassia won the money.
“For me, I prefer to win because Kassia’s money is hers while my money is ours; story go change just now. She knows what I am saying is true; she doesn’t joke with money,” KellyRae said, making his stance clear.
While the topic might have been somewhat sensitive, his wife found his comments amusing, as did the other housemates gathered in the dining area, who listened to his honest remarks.
On the X platform, KellyRae’s statement appears to have settled the debate among voters who were previously torn between supporting him or his wife.
