Speaking on the CreativiTEA podcast with host Lynda, the famous reality star recounted the incident in detail, sharing her experience and the lessons she learned from the ordeal.

According to Doyin, a brand she was representing as an ambassador decided to sever ties with her after she made statements in an interview that did not align with the brand’s image. The interview in question generated significant controversy and backlash, prompting the brand to take drastic action.

In her words, Doyin explained the situation: “There is no bad or good brand. I had a brand that dropped me. They had signed me and paid me the money, but they called and asked for a refund, and it was because of an interview I did. And to be fair to them, I deserved to be dropped because why did I talk?”

During the podcast, Doyin also reflected on her journey on Big Brother Naija, admitting that her portrayal during the ‘Level Up’ edition in 2022 was not authentic to her true personality. She revealed how her on-screen behavior was a deliberate attempt to project a certain image that she thought would be more acceptable or favorable to viewers and brands alike.

She confessed to projecting a persona that was more mature and peace-loving than her real self, which she described as someone who is not averse to confrontation. Doyin shared candidly about her internal struggles and the pressures of maintaining a facade while in the public eye.

“My first run wasn’t my best run, to be honest. I have been on the show twice, and I came out of the show, and I hated it. I was fake. I came out with the narrative that Doyin is too mature. She is always trying to talk things out; that’s not really me oo. In real life, I fight,” Doyin added, highlighting the contrast between her true nature and the image she felt compelled to project during her time on the reality show.
