Afrobeat sensation Davido took centre stage in Ethiopia as the country celebrated the arrival of the New Year of 2017.
In Ethiopia, it is widely recognized that the birth of Jesus Christ is acknowledged as occurring seven or eight years later than in the Gregorian, or “Western,” calendar. Consequently, New Year, also known as Enkutatash, is celebrated annually on September 11, or September 12 during a leap year.
Davido’s performance was a highlight of the vibrant celebrations, with fans enthusiastically embracing his energetic set, adding to the excitement of the holiday. His presence and performance significantly contributed to the festive atmosphere of the event.
Speaking on the event, Davido shared his excitement with his followers, writing: “Ethiopia last night was amazing !!”
