Popular Nigerian social media activist VeryDarkMan has called for an end to nationwide protests, announcing his withdrawal from the demonstrations and urging a halt to protests in all states.
In a recently posted video, the activist outlined his reasons for stepping back from the protest and appealed to others to do the same.
He highlighted troubling developments, particularly in some Northern states, where protesters have begun flying the Russian flag and calling for Russian intervention in Nigeria’s affairs.
Additionally, these protesters are advocating for a military coup, seeking to replace the democratic government with military rule.
VeryDarkMan [/b]emphasized that the original objective of the protest, which was addressing hunger, has been overshadowed by surprising new demands.
He expressed concern that the movement is being hijacked by some individuals with ulterior motives, diverging from its initial cause.
He also noted the increasing violence associated with the protests and urged the government to impose curfews in the affected states to prevent further escalation.
