Farooq Oreagba, the prominent figure from the viral Ojude Oba festival, opens up about his ongoing battle with incurable cancer and how this awareness of his limited time motivates him to live life to the fullest.

Recently featured at the annual Ojude Oba festival in Ijebu Ode, Farooq gained widespread attention due to his distinctive style and presence.

In a recent interview on Arise News, the head of NG Clearing Limited spoke on the family value that ties him to the festival and how he has participated for over 15 years.

Farooq Oreagba on cancer diagnosis


Speaking about his bone cancer, Farooq Oreaga stated that he was diagnosed in 2014, and had a bone marrow transplant the same year. He discussed his impact on cancer charity and also counselling others with other forms of cancer diagnosis.

“People ask me why I as so happy despite having an incurable bone cancer. I tell them, ‘I am alive and as long as you’re in the game, you can win the game. Everyday is a blessing,” he said partly.

The cancer survivor highlighted how friends deserted him after his diagnosis; leaving him with fewer than 100 from having millions.

“My friends reduced from five million to one million when I left the Nigerian exchange and from one million to a hundred when I was diagnosed with cancer,” he added.
