Abubakar Musa, popularly known as Gucci Branch, who has been closely associated with Marlian Music boss Afeez Fashola, professionally known as Naira Marley, recently expressed his frustration. He called out Naira Marley, Poco Lee, and Zlatan Ibile for abandoning him despite the past support and camaraderie they shared.
In a candid interview with content creator Romantik Eye, Gucci Branch opened up about his struggles, revealing how Naira Marley and Zlatan had neglected him, leaving him stranded in difficult conditions, which he referred to as the trenches. He also alleged that Poco Lee had leveraged his (Gucci Branch's) social media account to boost his own career and rise to prominence without offering any help in return.
In a heartfelt plea, Gucci Branch, who became famous after a viral EFCC raid photo, sought assistance, stating that those he once considered friends no longer keep in touch. Instead, they reportedly avoid him, with some even spreading rumors that he is no longer alive. He lamented how they have failed to offer him updates or support, further isolating him from opportunities in the entertainment industry.
During the interview, when asked if he still maintains contact with Nigerian superstars Davido and Burna Boy, Gucci Branch shared that while they still inquire about him, his former associates refuse to inform them of his whereabouts. He expressed sadness that people around him prevent him from reconnecting with these major figures in the music industry.
Gucci Branch further mentioned that Davido, in particular, would never forget him, and he still holds cherished memories of the times they spent together. He also proudly mentioned his appearance in a music video with Tiwa Savage, showing that he once had close ties to some of the biggest names in Nigerian music.
