In a now-deleted Instagram post, Opeyemi Falegan questions Wunmi Aloba's hesitancy to address and authorize the DNA test almost three months after Mohbad's tragic passing.

Highlighting the simplicity of the procedure, Falegan asserts that he has personally undergone DNA tests for his own children, portraying it as a routine and uncomplicated matter deserving no undue delay in this publicized scenario.

Expressing his frustration, Falegan questions Wunmi, stating, “Why is Wunmi not doing the DNA? Why is it taking forever? Don’t get me upset, please. I need to know if the child is an Ekiti child so I can provide financial support. DNA is important in this matter. Even if the child is adopted, we want to know. Is DNA that difficult? I did DNA for all my kids.”

Following the removal of the initial post, the ex-US military personnel issues a fresh statement in response to severe backlash, shedding light on the societal stigmatization surrounding DNA tests for women in Nigeria.

“Too many insults over DNA. DNA for Nigerian women is like a death sentence. It’s interesting how men are accused of cheating, and women fear DNA tests. Even if I want to take care of another man’s child, at least I want to know. I don’t want to lose my mind later discovering that the child belongs to someone else,” he adds.
