Liberian chef, Wonyean Aloycious Gaye, recently took to Instagram to address the heavy criticisms and backlash he has faced after expressing his intention to challenge chef Hilda Baci. In his heartfelt post, Gaye appealed to Nigerians to embrace love instead of hatred. The Liberian chef's desire to challenge Hilda Baci, who recently cooked for over 100 hours at Amore Gardens in Lagos state, sparked widespread discussions on social media. Nigerians, who deeply admire their beloved chef, expressed disapproval and extensively criticized Gaye for attempting to compete with her, even before Baci had received certification from Guinness World Records (GWR). Refusing to engage in negativity, Wonyean Aloycious Gaye utilized his Instagram platform to address the trolls and advocate for a message of love and peace. In his response, he urged Nigerians to refrain from hating on him and emphasized that all his actions are rooted in love, devoid of any animosity. Gaye stated, "In my country Liberia, we share no hate. It's all love here." The reaction to Gaye's statement varied, with some users dismissing his message and urging him to "keep your love to yourself," while others simply told him to rest. One user highlighted the hard work Baci had put into her achievements and accused Gaye of being envious, questioning his reference to love.
