On Thursday, Mercy Eke addressed the situation by responding to the private video of her lookalike and strongly denying any involvement. She emphasized that she was not part of the video, pointing out key differences such as her style choices, noting that she doesn’t wear long nails, socks, or piercings, which were noticeable in the video.
In her response, the reality star also made it clear that she does not engage in such behavior, offering an apology to her critics for what she described as not living up to their expectations of her. Her comment sparked various reactions online, with some people supporting her stance while others continued to question the authenticity of the denial.
However, the story took another turn after Mercy Eke’s denial, as the woman in the video allegedly reached out to the star. The woman expressed her disappointment, feeling belittled by Mercy’s remarks. In her message, she questioned whether Mercy’s comment about not wearing “such socks” was intended to imply superiority or suggest that the woman was somehow beneath her.
“I used to think you have a brain. You are so unintelligent and razz, wtf. What do you mean you don’t wear such socks? Do you think that’s regular? Do you know how much that costs? There are better ways to address issues like that without acting like you’re better, smh,” the woman wrote in her message, criticizing Mercy’s approach to the situation.
