Yul Edochie, a prominent Nollywood actor, has ignited a wave of online controversy by prominently displaying his wedding ring for the first time since parting ways with May Edochie.
According to reports by Gistreel, May initiated divorce proceedings against Yul following the tragic passing of their son, citing alleged adultery and demanding a substantial N100 million settlement. The contentious legal battle also saw May obtaining full custody of their children and securing a restraining order against Yul from entering their former marital residence due to safety concerns, among other reasons.

During court proceedings, Yul Edochie purportedly denied being married to Judy, asserting that May is his only wife. Notably, blogger Cutie Juls claimed that Judy Austin corroborated Yul's assertions, expressing surprise at discovering on blogs that their marriage was being portrayed as genuine.
To address the fallout, Yul has resumed wearing his wedding ring, perhaps as a form of damage control. The son of Pete Edochie made his presence felt in Lokoja, Kogi State, introducing himself to admirers as Alhaji Y Edochie or Alhaji Isi Mmili, declaring himself the sexiest man in Nigeria.

This move, however, did not go unnoticed by fans and followers who mocked him for it. Some expressed skepticism about the authenticity of his actions, with comments ranging from questioning which wife the ring symbolizes to suggesting potential legal repercussions for bigamy.
One user, Oligas, quipped, ‘If shame is a name”. Another, @Kare Mona, speculated, “Yul, you think you are smart, you dey run go put on your wedding ring with Queen May to prove a point in court that Queen May is still your legal wife. There is so much evidence against you. So Oga rest, you will go to jail for Bigamy”.
@Lady Pashy noted, ‘Werey don wear ring. Bigamy na ur mate? Queen May dey finish una silently, u can never see May make noise on Social media”. Others also raised questions about the sincerity of Yul's actions.
