The world of Nollywood is in mourning as it bids farewell to the legendary Chief Adedeji Aderemi, affectionately known as Baba Olofa Ina, who peacefully passed away at the age of 73.

The 73-year-old luminary departed on Thursday, January 4, 2024, in his hometown of Ede, leaving behind a rich legacy. Chief Adedeji Aderemi, also revered as Baba Olowe, held the esteemed title of Sobaloju of Edeland until his last moments.

A prominent figure in contemporary Yoruba theatre, Chief Adedeji Aderemi profoundly influenced the industry. In 1972, he founded the Olofa Ina Theatre Group, collaborating with renowned figures such as Erinfolamin, Dasofunjo, Gbolagade Akinpelu, and the late Oyetunji of Esinnla compound, Ede. His theatrical prowess was cultivated under the late Oyetunji's guidance.

The Olofa Ina Group left an indelible mark on the Theatre Industry by pioneering the presentation of epic narratives depicting Yoruba Warlords from the 18th and 19th centuries.

These productions included tales of Basorun Ogunmola, Balogun Ibikunle, Ogedengbe Agbogungboro of Ilesha, Aare Kurunmi of Ijaye, Kakanfo Afonja, and many other iconic historical figures.
