Afrobeat singer, Seun Kuti, has recently shared insights into his childhood, revealing how he was extensively pampered as a child. The son of the legendary musician Fela Kuti spoke candidly during his appearance on the Zero Conditions podcast, discussing how he received special treatment from his father. Despite acknowledging that his siblings might have different views, Seun emphasized that to him, Fela was an exceptional father.

In his words, Seun expressed:

“I won the daddy lottery. Fela Kuti is my favorite person in the world. If you asked my brothers, they could say he’s a terrible dad, but to me, he was an amazing father,” he said.

“You don’t know how spoilt I was growing up. Till now, I have never done laundry in my life. I don’t know how to wash anything. I’m not bragging.”

During the podcast, Seun also delved into his musical journey, recounting how he became a member of his father’s iconic band, Egypt 80, at the tender age of 8.

“I have been with Fela’s Egypt 80 band since I was 8 years old. So when Fela died, my family asked me to continue with the band and keep all the money I make,” he said.
