In response to the issue, Stefflon Don took to Twitter to state her position, saying that sharing a man's fortune should only be for those who shared part of the man's struggle. She further emphasized that no woman should be entitled to half of a man's earnings if she hasn't struggled with and helped him get there.

The statement generated mixed reactions from her followers on Twitter, with some expressing their disagreement, citing the law that stipulates that once married, both parties' assets become shared property. Others agreed that the law was designed to protect those who may be left in unfortunate situations following a divorce but expressed disappointment that some people would abuse it. Another user ridiculed the idea, calling out those who would only reject sharing their fortunes with their partners when it's time to part ways.
