Nollywood actress and renowned human rights activist, Tonto Dikeh, has taken aim at Pastor Tunde Bakare for his recent comments linking the late singer, Mohbad, to the consequences of his actions during his lifetime. The passing of the 27-year-old artist on September 12, 2023, has been shrouded in controversy on social media, with various opinions circulating about the circumstances surrounding his demise.
In a recent sermon, Pastor Tunde Bakare remarked that Mohbad had "reaped the reward of his unpleasant lifestyle while alive." He went further to suggest that the young artist had associated with individuals of questionable character and failed to foresee that his life would be tragically cut short in his prime.
Reacting passionately on her Instagram page, Tonto Dikeh directly addressed Pastor Bakare, urging him to refrain from involving Mohbad's name in his ministerial messages. She also called upon the pastor to apply the same level of scrutiny and commentary to address "your colleagues with sex scandals."
“Dear pastor Tunde, When your colleagues are caught with their pants down in unholy sexual activities. We never hear your voice, you never speak nor preach about them,” she wrote.
“It comes to the death of a boy who is old enough to be your last born and you say ‘he reaped the reward of his actions. ‘What Actions?
“Please please please keep the same energy with your corrupted Colleagues as you just did today. It is the anointing of God upon your head that is making me not go off on this loose comment of yours.
“I have learned over the years that if you have nothing nice to say, Keep mute (do not talk at all). Preach your gospel and leave Mohbad’s name out of your ministration. I do not respect old age, I respect the wisdom you exhibit at old age.”
