Nigerian chess master, Tunde Onakoya is set to challenge the Guinness World Record [/b]for the longest chess marathon right in the heart of New York City’s Times Square.

The aim of the founder of Chess in Slums [/b]Africa is to engage in a 58-hour-long chess session without facing a single defeat.

His endeavor is fueled by a profound mission to uplift underprivileged children. “Doing this for the dreams of millions of children across Africa without access to education,” he affirmed.

Presently in New York, Tunde Onakoya has been seen playing chess and achieving victories at various events, chess clubs, and even amidst the vibrant activity of Times Square.

“On the 17th of April 2024, I will attempt to break the Guiness World record for the longest Chess marathon in the heart of Times Square New York City for 58 hours without losing a game.Doing this for the dreams of millions of children across Africa without access to education,” he captioned the post.


His supporters and Nigerian comrades have since showered their support for the young man ahead of the slated event.

It is worth noting that Tunde once made his country proud in a challenge with 10 players simultaneously in Germany and managed to win all without a single defeat.
