Veteran singer Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo, known professionally as D’banj, recently surprised the residents of Lagos by giving them an impromptu free concert on a BRT bus. The popular musician, known for hits like "Oliver Twist," made a special appearance on the city's public transport system, bringing his music directly to his fans.
D’banj, who has been relatively low-key recently, has made a comeback with a new album titled The Entertainer D’Sequel. To celebrate its release, he decided to take his performance to the streets of Lagos, offering a unique and memorable experience to the city's residents.
The timing of D’banj’s spontaneous concert coincided with the opening of the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Blue Line, highlighting both the city's expanding infrastructure and his desire to connect personally with his followers. His journey included stops from the Leventis bus stop to the Marina train station and then on to the National Theatre station.
Throughout his ride, D’banj was met with enthusiastic reactions from fellow passengers who admired his surprise performance. A video clip captured a particularly heartwarming moment where D’banj was seen dancing with an elderly woman, while other passengers sang along to tracks from his new album.
