A deeply emotional video of Onyeka Onwenu’s body being carried by pallbearers dressed in traditional Isi Agu attire has gone viral, touching the hearts of many across social media platforms. The footage, which captures the late legendary singer’s body being moved from the church, has elicited emotional reactions from viewers, who were moved by the poignant display.
Onwenu, affectionately known as the “Elegant Stallion,” passed away on July 30, 2024, at Reddington Hospital in Ikeja, following a collapse at an event honoring Dr. Stella Okoli, Managing Director of Emzor Pharmaceuticals.
Her sudden death has shocked fans who celebrated her extensive contributions as a singer, writer, politician, broadcaster, activist, and actress.
The funeral service is being held today at the Fountain of Life Church in Ilupeju, with a private burial to follow at a vault in Ikoyi.
Onyeka Onwenu, who was 72 years old, is survived by her two sons.
