Content creator turned pastor, Woli Arole, has faced severe backlash following his comments on the tragic death of a FUNAAB student, Christianah Idowu. The 300-level student was abducted and murdered by her male friend, Ayomide Adeleye, a 200-level student of OOU, who has since been arrested.

In response to the tragic incident, Woli Arole took to Instagram with a now-deleted post urging women to be more security-conscious. He highlighted various risky behaviors such as engaging with a sugar daddy, spending weekends with male friends, and dating individuals involved in fraud. His message aimed to encourage women to focus on their faith and be cautious about their choices.

In his post, he wrote:

“Message to the LADIES: The devil is on rampage against young ladies’ destinies. Can we see the rate of RITUAL KILLINGS? Ladies don’t fornicate around, don’t carry SUGAR DADDY, don’t follow one boy friend away for a weekend, don’t date BOYS you know that are doing FRAUD!!! Be careful. Beware. Study your Bible, PRAY. Give your life to Christ. Your destiny is more than SEX and MONEY.”

However, his post drew significant criticism from many who felt that he was shifting blame onto the victims rather than condemning the perpetrators of such crimes. Critics argued that instead of advising women on how to avoid danger, he should have called for accountability from men and a broader societal change.

An Instagram user, @sweetylyx_official, commented: “Instead of warning ladies, why not tell your gender to do the right thing? As usual, always looking for a way to blame the victims.”

Another user, @fortunes_smiles, added: “One girl was killed in church after Night Vigil... she was a devoted Christian if I remember correctly. Let’s hold the guys accountable as well. This barbaric nature MUST stop.”
