Nollywood actress, Yvonne Jegede, staunchly defends her colleague, Yul Edochie, amidst the backlash surrounding his decision to marry a second wife.
It is noteworthy that Yul recently married a second wife, Judy Austin, a fellow actress in the movie industry, while still being married to his first wife, May Edochie.
In a candid discussion during an interview on The Honest Bunch podcast, Yvonne articulated her belief that Yul’s actions are not deserving of the severe criticism he has received. She highlighted that many of Yul’s detractors themselves hail from polygamous families.
Yvonne questioned the double standards of those who condemn Yul while simultaneously lauding Regina Daniels, another actress involved in a polygamous marriage.
She pointed out the irony of how people often idolize Regina Daniels, expressing a desire to emulate her life and marriage circumstances.

“You see this Yul Edochie ehnnn, 99% of people abusing him are from second wives, third wives, fourth wives, and fifth wives. Sometimes wives that the family doesn’t know about.
“Let us stop being silly on the internet. I don’t see anything he has done wrong. I know they will tear me to pieces when this interview gets uploaded.
“Why are you guys cursing him and making Regina Daniels your prayer point, only she fit advice you for marriage.”
