It is noteworthy that Adamawa State is also the home state of Atiku Abubakar, the PDP's Presidential Candidate for the 2023 elections. The win by Binani, a member of the opposition party, APC, is considered a significant achievement for the party.

Binani's election makes her the second woman to become a governor in Nigeria, following in the footsteps of Dame Virginia Etiaba of Anambra state, who served as governor from November 2006 to February 2007. Her victory has been celebrated as a significant milestone for gender equality in Nigerian politics, and it is hoped that it will inspire more women to participate in politics and aspire to leadership positions.
