Festus Keyamo, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), has expressed his belief that Nigerians should take pride in having Bola Ahmed Tinubu as their President. Keyamo described Tinubu as a highly knowledgeable economist who possesses a deep understanding of how to develop a modern economy. He shared his views on Twitter, emphasizing the emergence of a new generation of African leaders who prioritize self-sufficiency and cultural imperatives over Western theories and conditionalities that may not align with the aspirations of their people.

According to Keyamo, having President Tinubu at this time is a source of pride, as his extensive experience enables him to navigate the complexities of economic growth and engage effectively with other African leaders on initiatives of mutual benefit.

In other news, President Tinubu recently participated in a summit in Paris, France, where he joined world leaders in reviewing and signing a New Global Financial Pact. This pact aims to provide support and investment prioritization for vulnerable countries grappling with the devastating impacts of climate change, energy crises, and the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.

During the two-day summit, held on June 22 and 23, President Tinubu advocated for widening the fiscal space and promoting economic justice for Africa. The discussions centered around restoring fiscal stability for countries facing short-term financial challenges, mobilizing innovative financing for climate-vulnerable nations, promoting development in low-income countries, and encouraging investment in green infrastructure to facilitate the energy transition in emerging and developing economies.

The summit, hosted by President Emmanuel Macron of France at Palais Brongniart, aimed to address the recovery of economies from the COVID-19 pandemic and the growing concerns of poverty, providing access to finance and investment to foster inclusive growth. President Tinubu, along with other global leaders, multilateral institutions, financial experts, and economists, engaged in comprehensive discussions focused on leveraging finance and investment to drive sustainable and equitable development.
