Senator Elisha Abbo, representing Adamawa North in Nigeria’s Senate, has recently attracted widespread attention due to his threat of legal action against a woman named Wange David, following her accusations of their involvement in the creation of sex tapes. David alleged that she had participated in the making of 32 sex tapes with Senator Abbo, further claiming that he had released one of the videos online. According to David, Abbo is the only person with access to these tapes, and she accused him of being responsible for the public leak of one of the videos.

In a recent interview, David expanded on her claims, stating that the video had been circulated without her consent and implicating Senator Abbo as the party responsible for the leak. These accusations have sparked a significant amount of public interest and media attention, prompting the senator to issue a strong response through his legal team.

Senator Abbo has vehemently denied all of the allegations made by David, describing them as false and malicious. In response to these claims, Abbo’s legal counsel, Odiyowvi Osusu, has released a formal statement refuting the allegations. According to Osusu, these claims have caused significant damage to Abbo’s personal and professional reputation, as well as misled the public into believing false information about the senator.

Osusu’s letter outlines the events surrounding the release of the video. It states that the alleged sex tape was published on the platform “Naija Police: U” on September 4, 2024, and that an interview was subsequently broadcast on TrustTV News on YouTube the following day. The letter accuses David of making defamatory statements during this interview, which Abbo’s legal team argues have been damaging to his standing in both the political and personal spheres.

In the letter, Osusu demands that David issue a public retraction and apology within 72 hours. The retraction must meet specific conditions laid out by Abbo’s legal team. These include that the apology must be broadcast on national television and published in three major national newspapers. Furthermore, the terms of the retraction must be approved by Abbo’s legal representatives to ensure that it fully addresses the harm caused by David’s allegations. Additionally, the retraction must be shared on the same platforms that initially spread the allegations, including the online platform and media outlets where the claims were originally published.

Failure to comply with these demands within the 72-hour timeframe will result in legal action. According to the letter, if David does not issue the retraction and apology as requested, Senator Abbo’s legal team will pursue a lawsuit for libel. This lawsuit will seek damages for the harm done to Abbo’s reputation, as well as an injunction to prevent any further dissemination of the allegations. Additionally, the lawsuit will request that the court order David to issue a formal retraction and public apology.

The letter concludes with a stern warning to David, stating that if a satisfactory response is not received within the allotted time, legal proceedings will be initiated against her. This includes the possibility of filing for damages in a court of law and seeking further legal remedies to protect Senator Abbo’s reputation and prevent any further harm.
