Despite the agreement, the 23-year-old shot-stopper will continue his tenure with Valencia for the entirety of the 2024/25 season before officially joining the Reds in 2025, according to a report by talkSPORT.

This transfer represents the first major signing for Liverpool under the leadership of their new manager, Arne Slot, who recently succeeded Jürgen Klopp.

While Mamardashvili’s immediate impact on the squad at Anfield will be delayed, the deal demonstrates Liverpool’s strategic planning for the future and their commitment to securing talent for the long term.

The Georgian international is anticipated to be a potential long-term successor to current Liverpool number one, Alisson Becker.

GistReel Sport had previously reported that Mamardashvili, who gained widespread attention with his performances for Georgia at Euro 2024, has solidified his position as Valencia’s first-choice goalkeeper since his arrival on loan from FC Locomotive in 2021.

The young goalkeeper has accumulated 101 appearances for Valencia and currently holds the club’s record for the most consecutive league starts – an impressive 69 matches, beginning from the 2022/23 season.
