The Super Eagles are set to face the Cheetahs of Benin Republic at 5:00 pm today, with the team adopting a 3-4-3 formation, showcasing a balance between defensive solidity and attacking prowess.

In goal, Chippa United's Stanley Nwabali has been selected to start, bringing his shot-stopping skills and composure between the posts to the forefront.

The defense will be anchored by Captain William Troost-Ekong, who will lead the backline alongside Semi Ajayi and Calvin Bassey, forming a strong three-man defensive unit. Supporting them from the flanks will be Ola Aina and Bruno Onyemaechi, both taking on crucial wing-back roles that will require them to contribute both defensively and offensively.

In the midfield, Wilfred Ndidi, known for his defensive capabilities, will be partnering with the versatile Alex Iwobi. Together, they will provide the necessary stability, creativity, and link between defense and attack, ensuring that the Super Eagles control the tempo of the game.

Leading the line for Nigeria is Bayer Leverkusen’s in-form striker Victor Boniface. Boniface will spearhead the attack, with support from wingers Ademola Lookman and Samuel Chukwueze, who are expected to bring pace, skill, and goal-scoring opportunities from the flanks.

Notably, Victor Osimhen, who recently joined the squad late Thursday evening after finalizing his loan move to Galatasaray, has been left out of the starting lineup. However, Osimhen remains an option off the bench, and could be introduced later in the match depending on the team’s needs and the flow of the game.
