Earlier reports indicated that Liverpool's offer of £110 million was accepted by Brighton, following a midnight bid deadline set on August 10. Since then, his name has been consistently linked with a move to Stamford Bridge. Although Liverpool appeared to have secured his signature at the last minute, Caicedo has reportedly conveyed his commitment to Chelsea, despite a medical scheduled at Anfield.
This potential transfer deal signifies a substantial return for The Seagulls, who initially spent €5 million to secure Caicedo from Independiente del Valle in February 2021.
