The Mexican has been tipped to be a direct replacement for Aleksandar Mitrovic, who is attracting interest from Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal having scored 14 goals in 24 Premier League appearances last season. Jimenez, however, failed to score a league goal last season.

Commenting on his recent move to Fulham, Raul Jimenez told the club website;

“I will try to do my best for the team, one of the most iconic teams in the Premier League. I’m happy to be here and to play in this stadium, it’s a really good stadium, I like it here.

“I’m going to give my best to keep scoring goals in the Premier League.”

Jimenez who is now Fulham’s first summer signing, will be unveiled by his new team during a friendly against Aston Villa on Wednesday, July 26, in Orlando, Florida’s Exploria Stadium.

With Fulham 10th in the table last season, Jimenez will look to revive his attacking form which has been severely impacted by a life-threatening head injury suffered in late 2020.

Jimenez joined Wolves from Benfica, initially on loan, ahead of the 2018-19 season. He scored 44 goals in his first two seasons with Wolves before suffering a fractured skull away at Arsenal in November 2020. Since then, he has scored just six Premier League goals and failed to find the net in 15 league games last season.

At the international level with Mexico, Jimenez’s lack of minutes with Wolves last season ultimately cost him a place on El Tri‘s roster for June’s Concacaf Nations League Finals and the recently completed Gold Cup.

Wolves have sold several first-team players this season, including captain Ruben Neves, former skipper Conor Coady and centre-back Nathan Collins.
