Despite being inactive over the summer, Iheanacho is set to commence pre-season training with his new club. The 27-year-old forward has admitted that he is not yet at peak fitness but has been diligently working with a personal coach to close the gap.

In an interview on Sevilla’s official website, Iheanacho stated, “I have had the chance to do personal training with a coach. That helps my fitness as well. I’m not far off from where they are 100%, so I’m not far off. Hopefully, I’ll join them soon and then build the rest of my fitness with them.”

He expressed his optimism about being ready for the team’s first match of the season, saying, “Hopefully, I’ll be ready to play the first game.” Sevilla’s opening fixture of the new season will be against Las Palmas, and Iheanacho is confident about being match-ready before then.
