The match, a repeat of the 2023 final, saw City dominate possession but struggle to break through a resilient Inter defence. Alessandro Bastoni made an early block on Erling Haaland, while Inter had their own opportunities through Nicolò Barella and Marcus Thuram, but neither side could capitalise.

City’s best chance came from Kevin De Bruyne, whose effort was saved by Yann Sommer. However, De Bruyne was substituted at halftime due to injury. Phil Foden’s introduction for City added some spark, but Inter continued to frustrate the hosts with solid defending.

Inter had a golden opportunity to score when Matteo Darmian failed to convert a brilliant pass from Mehdi Taremi, opting for a back-heel flick that caught Nicolò Barella off guard.

Despite late pressure from City, including a missed header from Ilkay Gundogan, the match ended in a goalless draw.
