The intrusion allegedly took place on Saturday, with the Manchester City forward, along with his wife Michele and three children, thankfully absent from their Bolderberg property at the time of the incident.

Confirmed reports indicate that valuable items were taken during the burglary, although specific details regarding the stolen possessions have not been disclosed.

Belgian news outlet HLN has reported that the burglars utilized a stepladder to access the first floor and gain unauthorized entry into the residence.

De Bruyne, who acquired the property in 2015 and enhanced it with amenities like a pool, jacuzzi, and basketball court, was away on official duty when the incident occurred.

The 32-year-old midfielder had joined his Manchester City teammates in Saudi Arabia after missing their 2-2 Premier League draw with Crystal Palace over the weekend.

Despite the burglary, it's noteworthy that De Bruyne and his family predominantly reside at their Wilmslow, Cheshire home and infrequently utilize the Belgian mansion.

Authorities are actively investigating the break-in and have promised to release more details as the inquiry progresses.
