Manchester City clinches Premier League title as Arsenal loses to Nottingham Forest

Manchester City has secured their fifth Premier League title in six seasons following Arsenal's 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest on Saturday, May 20.

A goal from Super Eagles star Taiwo Awoniyi in the first half sealed the victory for Nottingham Forest, which also helped them avoid relegation from the Premier League.

Despite Arsenal's strong performance throughout the season, their momentum began to wane in early April with a draw against Liverpool, followed by three winless games. This allowed Manchester City to close the eight-point gap that existed between them.

Last weekend, Arsenal suffered a significant blow as Brighton secured a convincing 3-0 victory at the Emirates Stadium, coinciding with City's own 3-0 win over Everton.

Pep Guardiola's Manchester City will face Chelsea in their final home game of the season on Sunday, May 21, where they will celebrate their third consecutive title.

With two more victories, Manchester City could achieve a historic Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League treble, a feat previously accomplished only by Manchester United in 1998/99.
