Pochettino reportedly expresses interest in the managerial position at Old Trafford, a role he narrowly missed out on two years ago when Ten Hag was appointed.

The Argentine coach, who has also caught the eye of Bayern Munich, parted ways with Chelsea by mutual consent after less than a year at Stamford Bridge.

His tenure at Chelsea witnessed mixed results, culminating in a sixth-place finish in the 2023/24 Premier League season and securing a berth in the Conference League.

However, pending the outcome of Manchester United’s FA Cup final against Manchester City, their Conference League slot could be upgraded to the Europa League.

Despite Chelsea's tumultuous season, which included 11 Premier League defeats and exits from both the FA Cup semi-finals and the Carabao Cup final, Pochettino's late-season resurgence — winning the final five league matches — left a positive impression.

Meanwhile, Manchester United endured a disappointing campaign under Ten Hag, finishing eighth in the Premier League, their lowest-ever finish with a goal difference of -1.

Their Champions League journey concluded in the group stage, and their Carabao Cup title defense was thwarted by a 3-0 defeat to Newcastle United.

Even a triumph over Manchester City in the FA Cup final might not secure Ten Hag’s position, leaving the door ajar for Pochettino, who boasts significant Premier League experience from his time with Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton.
