The Turkish Super Lig club announced the deal on Saturday, just days before the transfer window closes on September 13. This move allows Fenerbahce to strengthen their squad as they prepare for the upcoming challenges in both domestic and European competitions.

Under the terms of the agreement, Fenerbahce will pay Fiorentina a loan fee of €2 million for Amrabat’s services. Additionally, they have the option to purchase the midfielder outright for an extra €13 million if they decide to make the move permanent at the end of the season.

Fenerbahce welcomed Amrabat with an official statement, expressing their excitement and optimism for his contribution to the team. The club conveyed their hopes for a successful tenure, stating, “We wish our new player a career full of titles in the yellow and blue striped jersey.”

Fiorentina also expressed their gratitude to Amrabat for his contributions during his time at the club. The 29-year-old midfielder played a crucial role in the early stages of their season. Fiorentina acknowledged his professionalism and dedication, particularly noting his efforts in the Europa Conference League play-off match against Puskas Akademia. “Thank you for your professionalism, Sofyan, shown until the 120th minute in your final match with the lily on your chest,” the club remarked.

Amrabat’s move to Fenerbahce follows a season-long loan stint at Manchester United, where he made 30 appearances across all competitions, including 21 in the Premier League. His previous tenure in Italy saw him accumulate a total of 85 Serie A appearances with Fiorentina and Hellas Verona, demonstrating his experience and value in top-flight football.
