After Victor Osimhen scored the goal that gave Napoli their first Serie A title in 33 years against Udinese on Thursday night, there have been reports that the club is willing to sell him for around €150 million (£131m/$165m) to other European clubs who are interested in him. However, the club's President Aurelio De Laurentiis has now made it clear that he has no intention of selling the Nigerian superstar this summer.
When asked about the possibility of Osimhen leaving the club during an interview on the Rai Sport show 'Cinque Minuti' on Friday evening, De Laurentiis stated emphatically that he will not sell the player this summer.
In addition, De Laurentiis confirmed that the club is waiting for coach Luciano Spalletti to agree to a contract extension, stating that he sees him as a great leader and hopes to open a new cycle with him. He also mentioned that he exercised the clause for the renewal of Spalletti's contract and it's now up to him to make a decision. The president described Spalletti as a legend he has been chasing for at least ten years and believes that he has become a hero in Naples.
