Nigerian professional footballer, Stanley Nwabali has publicly expressed his support for Victor Osimhen amid the striker’s recent transfer debacle. Osimhen had been keen to leave Serie A club Napoli before the transfer window closed on Friday, but his attempts to move to Saudi club Al Ahli or Premier League club Chelsea fell through.
With the transfer window now shut, Osimhen finds himself excluded from Napoli’s Serie A squad, raising the possibility that he might be sidelined from club football until next year.
In response to this challenging situation, Nwabali took to the X platform (formerly Twitter) to extend words of encouragement to his fellow international teammate. He posted, “All great legends and all Hall of Fame fighters have their storylines. Good, bad and worst kinds of views from people who have no idea what the real story is and what it takes. I would define a myth as a story that has survived. VO9.”
