Victor Osimhen, the Nigerian football sensation, is scheduled to make his arrival at the Super Eagles camp on Thursday, as the team prepares for the crucial qualifiers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). The Super Eagles, Nigeria’s national football team, are set to face off against Benin Republic and Rwanda in a bid to secure a coveted spot in the upcoming 2025 AFCON tournament, which is considered one of the most prestigious football competitions on the African continent.

The 25-year-old striker, who has gained international acclaim for his remarkable skills on the field, is among the 23-man squad that has been carefully selected by the coaching staff for these high-stakes fixtures. Despite recently being at the center of a saga involving his club, Napoli, and a subsequent loan move to Turkish giants Galatasaray, Osimhen has graciously accepted the invitation to represent his country in these pivotal matches.

Osimhen’s much-anticipated arrival at the Super Eagles camp will be contingent upon the successful completion of his move to Galatasaray, where he is expected to bolster the Turkish Super Lig champions’ attacking lineup. Once his transfer is finalized, he will join his teammates in Uyo, Nigeria, where the squad will be based during their preparation for the qualifiers.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has confirmed that Osimhen, along with Udinese’s goalkeeper Maduka Okoye, will be reporting to the team’s base at the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel in Uyo, two days before the critical match against Benin Republic. This match is particularly important as it could significantly impact Nigeria’s chances of qualifying for the 2025 AFCON tournament.

In addition to Osimhen, Kelechi Iheanacho, another key player who recently signed with Spanish club Sevilla, is also expected to report to camp on Wednesday. His presence will add further strength to the squad as they gear up for the upcoming challenges.

As of now, 20 players have already arrived at the camp and are actively engaged in rigorous training sessions under the guidance of the coaching staff, all in preparation for the forthcoming matches that are of great significance to Nigeria’s football ambitions.
