PSG [/b]have made significant additions to their squad with the recent signings of Marco Asensio and Milan Skriniar on Thursday, July 6. The French club has officially unveiled both players, showcasing their new acquisitions.
The arrival of Slovakian defender Milan Skriniar [/b]has been marked by a five-year deal, following the expiration of his contract with Internazionale in June. Skriniar previously joined Inter from Sampdoria in 2017, amassing close to 250 appearances for the club. Additionally, he has represented Slovakia on 60 occasions.
During the previous transfer window in January, the 28-year-old center-back was linked with a move to PSG, but a deal could not be reached before the window closed. Skriniar's final season in Italy was hampered by injuries, causing him to miss over 20 games across all competitions, including the Champions League final where Inter suffered defeat against Manchester City.
On the other hand, Marco Asensio has agreed to a three-year contract until 2026 following his free transfer. The Spanish midfielder gained prominence during the 2016-17 season at Real Madrid under the guidance of Zinedine Zidane. Asensio notably scored in that season's Champions League final. However, he gradually fell out of favor at the La Liga club. Last season, the 27-year-old made 51 appearances for Real Madrid in all competitions, contributing 12 goals, although he was predominantly utilized as a substitute.
Milan Skriniar and Marco Asensio mark PSG's first signings in this summer's transfer window. These announcements follow the recent appointment of Luis Enrique as the club's manager, succeeding Christophe Galtier.
Expressing his thoughts to the club's official website, Skriniar stated:
