While Osimhen is among the strikers currently on Manchester United's radar, Ferdinand believes that Kane should be the club's top target. The former defender acknowledges that Osimhen possesses qualities that would be desirable for the team, particularly his impressive goal-scoring record of 23 goals in 30 appearances that helped Napoli secure their first Serie A title in 30 years.

However, Ferdinand emphasizes that signing Osimhen for a significant sum of money from Italy could be a gamble for Manchester United. Speaking on his Five YouTube Channel, Ferdinand expressed his thoughts, stating, "A number nine is the obvious area that Man Utd need to sort out, we need to get a number in the building. There are two names that keep coming up – Osimhen from Napoli and Harry Kane. Ultimately, it is down to Kane and (Tottenham chairman) Daniel Levy."

Ferdinand believes that if Kane and Levy express a desire for the transfer to happen, Manchester United would be able to seal the deal. However, he emphasizes that the financial aspects of the transfer must be reasonable, considering Tottenham's history with Kane and his contributions to the club. Ferdinand suggests that it is time for Kane to pursue new challenges, competing for titles and trophies in various competitions.

While Kane has been in remarkable form, scoring 28 Premier League goals this season, Ferdinand points out that Tottenham's chances of securing European football are dwindling. On the other hand, despite trailing behind Manchester City, Manchester United is guaranteed a top-four finish in the Premier League.

Regarding Osimhen, Ferdinand acknowledges his abilities as a 24-year-old forward who has showcased his goal-scoring prowess in France and Italy, winning the league title with Napoli. However, Ferdinand highlights the uncertainty surrounding Osimhen's adaptation to the Premier League, making it a potential risk for Manchester United.

Despite the unknown factors, Ferdinand considers either Kane or Osimhen as viable options for Manchester United, with Kane being a proven goal-scorer guaranteeing 20 to 25 goals per season. Ferdinand concludes by stating his satisfaction with either signing, but he acknowledges the reliability and consistency that Kane would bring to the club.
