The Portuguese forward, who had a disappointing Euro 2024 campaign with Portugal, quickly made his presence felt upon his return to club football.

Ronaldo set up Ayman Yahya for the opening goal in the eighth minute by flicking on a pass after Sadio Mané made a run down the left flank.

The early goal was pivotal, helping Al-Nassr maintain pressure throughout the match. Despite several attempts by Al-Taawoun to equalize, Al-Nassr’s goalkeeper, Bento, made crucial saves to keep them at bay.

Ronaldo’s impact continued as he assisted Mané, only for the Senegalese striker to be denied by Al-Taawoun’s goalkeeper, Mailson Santos. Ronaldo finally found the back of the net himself in the 57th minute, completing a move initiated by Yahya and right-back Sultan Al-Ghannam.

Although Ronaldo came close to scoring a second goal later in the match, his attempt was thwarted by the crossbar.

With this win, Ronaldo aims for more silverware with Al-Nassr, adding to his Arab Club Champions Cup title from 2023. The Knights of Najd are set to face Al-Hilal in the Saudi Super Cup final on August 17.
