Napoli went into the game missing several key players, including Victor Osimhen, Michael Folorunsho, and Mario Rui, who were all sidelined due to ongoing transfer issues.

Despite their absences, Napoli had opportunities to score. Andre Frank Zambo Anguissa came close with a header from a Giovanni Di Lorenzo cross but was unable to find the net. Stanislav Lobotka also narrowly missed with a shot from the edge of the box.

Napoli’s best chance came just before halftime when Khvicha Kvaratskhelia was through on goal after a poor back-pass from Verona. However, Kvaratskhelia was unable to capitalize on the opportunity.

In the second half, Verona broke the deadlock with a swift counter-attack. Darko Lazovic provided the assist for Rocha Livramento, who scored on his debut for Verona.

Verona then extended their lead with a goal from substitute Daniel Mosquera, who calmly slotted the ball past Napoli goalkeeper Alex Meret.

The match ended in further disappointment for Napoli as Verona sealed a 3-0 victory in stoppage time. Mosquera scored his second goal of the match following a dramatic scene in the box, leaving Conte’s side with a challenging start to their season.
