A pastor and educator, Diketso Matibidi, faces suspension after brutally flogging a female student for tardiness during a Sunday church service at St Peter’s Combined Christian School in Mohlaletsi village, Sekhukhune District, Limpopo, South Africa.
According to Gistreel reports, the pastor publicly called out the late student and used a Sjambok, a whip commonly used in South Africa, to administer the punishment in front of the congregation.
Despite initial denials by the school, parents seeking justice have pushed for the pastor's removal and disciplinary action. Fellow students eventually confirmed the incident.
Parents are now demanding therapy for the traumatized child, asserting that the inhumane treatment has affected her ability to concentrate in school.
The school released a statement, announcing a disciplinary hearing against the pastor, a medical evaluation for the affected student, and the reporting of the incident to the police.
