Nollywood actress Mimi Orjiekwe has found herself in a troubling situation after being reportedly arrested and detained by The Special Fraud Unit (SFU) in Ikoyi, Lagos state. The arrest follows allegations of her failure to deliver on a contract worth N700,000,000 awarded to her by businessman Mr. Micheal Diongoli.
According to reports by blogger Cuttie Julls, Mr. Micheal Diongoli paid Mimi Orjiekwe a total sum of N700 million to secure a procurement contract for specific household interior-design furniture items. However, she allegedly failed to fulfill her end of the agreement.
Reports indicate that Mimi Orjiekwe had been evading authorities for nearly two months following the receipt of the N700 million from Mr. Micheal Diongoli.
Cuttie Julls, sharing details of the arrest on Instagram, wrote, "It's largely rumored in Mimi's close circle that the actress had previously mentioned to a few that she was confident Mr. Michael Diongoli would remain behind bars for a long time when he had issues with the Nigerian Interpol."
However, fate seems to have turned against Mimi as Michael Diongoli has been released by Interpol and has been expecting Mimi to complete the job he paid her for. Unfortunately, all efforts have been unsuccessful, leading to suspicions that Mimi used the money for personal interests rather than fulfilling the contract.
This led Mr Micheal Diongoli to file a petition to the Ikoyi law enforcement police department to help locate and arrest Mimi Orjiekwe.
Mimi’s arrested is coming three days after she celebrated her birthday on the 14th of July with adorable photos on Instagram.
