Initially, Akorede opted for the National Open University (NOUN), where he began studying accounting. However, fueled by his determination, he decided to retake the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) exams and successfully secured admission to study finance at the prestigious University of Lagos (UNILAG).

In May 2023, he expressed his long-standing desire to pursue his university education at UNILAG. He recounted his unsuccessful attempts to secure admission in 2011, 2012, and 2013 to study accounting. Frustrated by the admission process, Akorede enrolled at NOUN to study accounting in 2014. In 2017, during his final year and first semester at NOUN, he found inspiration from his twin friends who had successfully gained admission to UNILAG in 2015 and 2016.

Motivated by their achievements, Akorede persevered and retook the JAMB exams in 2017, refusing to give up on his dream of studying at UNILAG. His determination paid off when he was offered admission to study finance at the university. Currently in his final year, Akorede anticipates completing his program in June 2023 with gratitude to God and a strong belief in resilience, consistency, commitment, and goal attainment.

Months later, Akorede proudly announced his graduation on Twitter, sharing photos from his sign-out ceremony. Expressing his gratitude and joy, he celebrated his newfound status as a graduate and emphasized that he could now be recognized as both a product designer and a financial analyst. This accomplishment holds immense significance for him, and he expressed his gratitude, saying "Alhamdulillah" (an Arabic phrase meaning "praise be to God").

Akorede's inspiring journey serves as a testament to his perseverance, determination, and the power of staying committed to one's goals. Despite the challenges and delays he encountered along the way, he emerged victorious, equipped with an academic qualification and the satisfaction of accomplishing his aspirations.

He wrote:
