The lady and her siblings arrived in Ireland on a family visa to join their father, who had been living abroad for several years. This has led to a discussion on social media about the implications of such family reunifications.

In response to the video, Michael OKeeffe, an Irish citizen, voiced his frustration on X, lamenting the increasing influx of asylum seekers and their families. He shared a post with the caption: “Nigerian man comes to Ireland and applies for asylum, then he gets approved for family reunification and brings his wife and 7 children to Ireland. We are being overrun. This is simply not sustainable.”

Michael OKeeffe also provided statistics showing the current number of Nigerians seeking asylum in Ireland and recent approvals for family reunifications. According to his post, there are currently 6,295 Nigerians claiming asylum in Ireland, with 173 new requests for family reunification submitted last month.

The post has generated mixed reactions from the public, with some expressing concerns about the rapid growth of Nigerian communities in Ireland and suggesting deportation as a solution.

Reactions trailing Nigerian man’s reunion with 7 children in Ireland

Lala7835130855 said: “Nigerians you are not white and they don’t want you in Ireland. 🇮🇪 lol 😂 They have no respect for you Nigerians that think they are better than most other people.”

calculonsquest penned: “Hundreds of thousands of Nigerians have been installed in Ireland since the floodgates opened 25-30 years ago, being provided with the best resources the government and councils have to offer.”

StuartD11635112 opined: “The exponential effect of this is enormous, let’s say 7 kids have 4 each = 28 who have 4 each = 112 after 2 generations, and 112 have 4 each etc etc etc. All from 1 man claiming asylum and reunification.”

jerkgoonfemboy noted: “Besides Palestine, none of these countries have a war. Palestinians should only go to other Arabic countries.”

AlbrecKile penned: “They have to go back.”
