In his view, a lingering curse seems to afflict the Nigerian political system, leading to the transformation of even the most upright individuals once they become part of it.

Nigerian comedian, Adebowale Adedayo, aka Mr Macaroni

Despite his comedic persona, Mr Macaroni has ruled out any aspirations of entering politics in the future. The 30-year-old comedian firmly believes that the Nigerian political system has a tendency to corrupt even the most principled individuals once they are immersed in it.

In his words, "I think in the Nigerian political system or space, there’s a curse roaming around there because we’ve seen great men, men of valour go into that space and become something we no longer recognise."

Reflecting on his own journey, Mr Macaroni traced his activism roots back to his secondary school days, where his strong aversion to cheating and mistreatment of others began to take shape.

He emphasized the paramount importance of treating all individuals with respect, stating unequivocally that those who fail to do so will undoubtedly encounter his strong objections.

"I think it started from secondary school, naturally I don’t like being cheated and I don’t like people around me to be cheated, just treat people with respect. So the moment you do not, then you have a problem with me," shared Mr Macaroni.
