The Member of Parliament, in collaboration with the police, conducted the operation in response to the increasing prevalence of such activities in the constituency. The aim was to prevent the corruption of the youth and safeguard the region's reputable image.

The police have revealed that approximately 90 percent of the arrested sex workers were Nigerians, while the remaining individuals were Ghanaians and foreigners from other nationalities.

The Member of Parliament stated, "Yesterday, I directed the police to conduct an operation in town, and as a result, they apprehended all those involved in prostitution within our town. We managed to arrest about 50 individuals, and they will be brought before the court for legal proceedings."

"About 90 percent of those arrested are Nigerians. There are also Ghanaians among them. They have come here to tarnish the good reputation of Koforidua. We will not tolerate anyone engaged in such activities. If you are aware of such individuals and cannot visit the police station, please contact me," he added.

The Member of Parliament emphasized that prostitution in Koforidua will not be tolerated and urged the public to assist in combating this issue within the town.
