The Nollywood [/b]industry, known for producing movies in the Nigerian film industry, is in a state of mourning following the passing of veteran Yoruba actor Mukaila Adedigba, also known as 'Sikiru Adeshina'.
The news was announced by Kunle Iyiola Afod, a well-known Nollywood actor and movie director, on his Instagram page on Saturday.
Afod revealed that the actor passed away in the early hours of May 13, 2023. He described Adedigba as a vast repository of Yoruba knowledge and a devout believer in God. Afod offered his prayers for the peaceful repose of the late actor's soul.
In his tribute, Afod wrote, "Another library is burnt down today. A great philosopher. An icon with so much Yoruba knowledge. A lover of God. @alafinoro1, you departed this sinful world early hour of today. May your gentle soul rest in peace."
Other Nollywood actors and actresses have offered their condolences, while many were shocked and saddened by Adedigba's death.
At the time of this publication, the cause of his death remains unknown.
