In the accompanying image, which was posted on Instagram by Speed Darlington himself, he can be seen holding a gas cylinder with a caption that reads, "I bought N2K worth of gas and it finished in a month." He goes on to explain that as a bachelor, he doesn't cook much with the gas and primarily uses it to boil water.

The video quickly gained attention on social media, prompting various reactions from users. Lizzyofblaze questioned Speed Darlington's expectation, saying, "Was he expecting 2k gas to last for a year?" Geedicarl expressed their discontent, stating, "So unfair, something that should last at least nine months." Mrcayanasneh suggested an alternative solution, advising him to buy a 2k lighter, which would last longer. Dasola_gb humorously remarked, "It should last for at least 2 years."

Wakawaka_doctor jokingly questioned whether the gas cost 2,000 Nigerian Naira or 2,000 British pounds. Pexlym suggested taking legal action, writing, "Sue the seller. 2k gas should last at least 1 year." Diamondhair_empire expressed outrage, calling it pure theft and suggesting legal recourse: "Akpi sue them. The gas was supposed to last for 6 years. This is pure theft, my presido." Manlikeflexx made a playful comment, suggesting that it might have been a certain chef from Ekiti who used up Speed Darlington's gas.

The incident sparked conversations about the cost and duration of gas usage, with social media users engaging in humorous exchanges and offering various perspectives on the matter.
