The student, identified as Austin, who sat for his exams at DEPOWA Schools, shared his results on Facebook after they were officially released on August 12.

Austin revealed in his Facebook post that he had taken nine subjects and has plans to study medicine at the university.

His results featured a mix of impressive grades and one notable setback. He excelled in Civic Education with an A1 and performed well in core subjects such as English Language and Mathematics, achieving B3 in both.

However, his performance in Chemistry, a crucial subject for his desired field, was disappointing with an E8.

In addition, Austin scored C5 in Agricultural Science, C4 in Biology, C6 in both Physics and Computer Studies, and C5 in Catering Craft Practice.

In his Facebook post, Austin expressed his frustration, stating, “My WAEC result. Omo chemistry spoil show.”

When asked about his intended course of study, Austin confirmed: “Medicine.”

Dorcas Kehinde Oludele commented: “He should go and do political science since he has A1 in Civic. Not everyone will work in a hospital.”

Ezekiel Emmanuel Andy said: “Sometimes I don’t write anything in my exams because I believe silence is the best answer.”

Ölüwà Seun Sämüel remarked: “I hope he did NECO because a science student without chemistry is going nowhere. I’m also hoping for a better result in my NECO.”

Ramadhan Omar Haruna suggested: “WAEC should re-mark his Chemistry exams. It might have been a mistake.”

Kwaghza Joseph Uchahemba wrote: “Change of course. Political science. Congratulations, Eh Ric Switslim. This was the same thing that happened with my result back then. A1 in Agric, the rest B3. They messed up my Math exam. I see tears, I couldn't cry.”

Olalekan Samuel asked: “What if he applies for Computer Science? Does it require Chemistry? Just asking.”

Esther Omede Awoh said: “He will pass it in NECO. It’s a very good result.”

Peace Ak commented: “We always have Civic A1; my mind was A1 too.”

Obuji Loveth Nnenna remarked: “It’s still better than F9 all through.”

Rex Reuben shared: “I remember vividly that the Chemistry exam wasn’t favorable that day. Fortunately, what I crammed 2 minutes before the exam came out and I got B3.”

Uguru Oluchi commented: “Omo, if any science student fails Chemistry or Physics, ha, you go nowhere. You have to sit for another exam.”

Itz David Anita said: “My result is still on hold. I’m heartbroken.”

Princess Dier suggested: “He should register for GCE.”

Em Tee advised: “Austin Chiboy, go and register for WAEC GCE. It will end on the 30th of this month. Or register for NECO GCE second series. University won’t give you admission without at least a C in Chemistry. Register for GCE. Results will be out before December.”

Odico Obinna noted: “Your Chemistry and Physics are not good at all.”
