A Kenyan woman who funded her wedding around 9 years ago has shared her heartbreaking story of betrayal by the man she once believed was her soulmate.
In a poignant interview with Tuko, the woman identified as Jane Muthoni recounted the painful deception that followed her significant financial investment.
Jane revealed that she met her now-ex-husband at church in 2013. At that time, he was unemployed, but his humility drew her to him.
Determined to build a life together, Jane funded their wedding with a substantial amount of Ksh500,000 (approximately N6 million). Despite early warning signs, her deep affection led her to overlook potential issues.
During their courtship, Jane’s husband’s family had warned her that he seemed unserious about life, hoping that marriage might change him.
Despite these concerns, Jane became the primary financial supporter, covering all expenses and eventually having two children with him.
The betrayal became evident when Jane started receiving distressing photos of her husband with another woman, taken with the very smartphone she had bought for him.[/p>
